The Effects of Electrical Muscle Stimulation (EMS)Towards Urinary Incontinence in Women

This review analyzed 30 randomized controlled trials to evaluate the effectiveness of intravaginal, tibial nerve, sacral nerve, and suprapubic electrical stimulation in women with stress, urge, and mixed urinary incontinence. The findings show tibial nerve and intravaginal stimulation offer real benefits for urge incontinence, while current evidence does not support intravaginal stimulation as an effective treatment for stress urinary incontinence.
