The Effects of Electrical Muscle Stimulation (EMS)For Postmenopausal Women

Can whole-body EMS training help postmenopausal women maintain muscle and strength as they age? This 14-week randomized controlled trial followed 30 pretrained postmenopausal women, comparing a group that added whole-body electromyostimulation (WB-EMS) to their regular exercise routine against a control group that continued conventional training alone. Results showed the WB-EMS group achieved significantly greater reductions in body fat and waist circumference, along with notable improvements in trunk and leg strength, compared to conventional exercise alone.
