The Effects of Electrical Muscle Stimulation (EMS)Towards Male Skeletal Muscle Mass
Can electrical muscle stimulation really build muscle without a heavy workout? This study examined the effects of a 5-week EMS training program on skeletal muscle mass in 15 male subjects, measuring changes across the upper body, lower body, and dominant/non-dominant limbs. Using body composition analysis and paired sample t-tests, researchers found statistically significant increases in muscle mass across all measured areas following EMS.
